As others have mentioned, the size of the packaging is a bit deceptive, but it's air-tight and comes with a scoop for you to measure, so why does it matter lol.. unless you have limited pantry space, I guess. So far, I've used this product in my plain yogurt and overnight oats, and it surprisingly tastes like I'm eating a dessert, which is awesome. This protein powder is quite sweet though, even with one scoop, so I find it unnecessary to use any sweeteners like honey/maple syrup if I were to mix it in with something. I opted for the vanilla flavor for versatility since I already have cocoa, PB2, and matcha powder on hand to mix together myself (I've tried all combinations, and they were all delicious!).Can't wait to try the "& Greens" version after I finish this container :)
I have IBS and my stomach gets torn up very easily by most protein drinks. I decided to try this as a last-ditch effort. I can say with certainty that this did not tear up my stomach at all. I bought the chocolate and did Two Scoops with 10 oz of almond milk and a half a cup of ice in my Ninja blender and it was fantastic. I think the chocolate taste has almost a cinnamon undertone which is delicious. And best of all no gastric distress IE no diarrhea, no gas , no indigestion and no heartburn. This is a game changer.
I like the chocolate, the flavor is good, a soft chocolate with a hint of malt flavor to me.The powder blends well into my health drinks that I make, there is a very small amount of fine grit, but it doesn't bother me at all. So easy to drink and I feel the ingredients are sooooo full of healthy components, way more than I could ever purchase and incorporate myself. This one has the Superfoods and greens incorporated, there is no berry or greens flavor at all, just chocolate. I mix with milk and love the consistency, fills me up, I use as a meal replacement.
I have been buying this product for a couple of months now, and absolutely love it — I have tried other powders, but found most are too “earthy” in flavor, or too gritty after blending. So, with that being said, after buying it a few times, the price jumped and then I really started reading the “bad reviews” and came across lots of folks saying that after testing, they found high levels of Glyphosate and other pesticides/herbicides. I asked a question on here, as to if there have been any updates on the topic, and no response; so, I emailed the company directly, and to my excitement, and hopefully many others, here is their response:Orgain takes issues concerning food safety and quality very seriously. We are committed to manufacturing the cleanest protein and nutritional products possible.Glyphosate is unfortunately one of the most widely used herbicides in agriculture and one of the most pervasive chemicals in our food system. Reducing the use of glyphosate is one of the motivations to grow crops organically and produce or purchase Organic products. Because of our concern that glyphosate can migrate to organic fields, and to ensure that we are holding our organic pea suppliers to the highest standards, Orgain instituted a protocol in late 2018 that requires every lot of organic pea protein to be tested by an accredited global third party lab for glyphosate, glufosinate, and aminomethlyphosphonic acid (AMPA).Since instituting the testing, not a single batch of organic pea protein has tested positive for any of the above-mentioned chemicals. Out of an abundance of caution, we also conducted third-party testing on finished goods on Orgain’s best-selling protein powders (including the product mentioned in the article), all of which returned zero detectable results.
After recovering from an injury 1.5 years ago, I am getting back into working out. I am just doing bodyweight and bands; yet, I am seeing gains. It tastes amazing. I add a pinch of cocoa-dusted almonds, chia seeds, and a handful of walnuts to get a fat and Omega-3 boost. It is good with water or unsweetened almond milk. Sweetened almond milk might make it too sweet. I look forward to the next shake every day now. It has quickly become routine.I eat a whole food plant-based diet and drinking plenty of water so I am not experiencing the constipation that some have complained of. In fact, I actually feel quite regular now with well-formed stools. Okay yeah, tmi, but I wanted those with concerns to know.Worth it. I will be purchasing again.
